About Our Council
St. John Neumann/Good Shepherd Council # 12571 was founded in 1999 through the efforts of Randy Dolce. It is named after the parish St. John Neumann/Good Shepherd. The St. John Neumann Council # 12571 works with the St. John Neumann parish in Lords Valley & the St Ann parish in Shohola, (The parishes were linked in 2009) providing funds for various projects, members being active participants in their community/parish. etc.

Some of the projects that the St. John Neumann/Good Shepherd Council are involved in is the TROOPS PROGRAM, which was started in September 2004 with donations from the St. John Neumann/Good Shepard Council and the Marine Corps League Detachment #909. Jars were placed at various locations in Lords Valley and with these donations the program was started. A list of items that the troops needed was published and the community was appealed to for their help. The Hemlock Farms Fire Company was good enough to give us space to store our donations until shipped overseas.

During the last several years the council has sent over 2024 packages to the men and women who are defending our country. If you have anyone in stationed overseas  please get us his or her APO# and we will be glad to send them a package or two.

Another Project is Food for Families and Friends Program, which provides a nutritious home cooked meal on the first Sunday of every month at St.John Neumann church for families and individuals experiencing financial difficulties or in need of socialization and the 2nd Sunday of every month at St.Anns church.

And a third project is "Knights Reaching Out A Helping Hand" is a program designed to help Brother Knights and their immediate family. The services provided are phone contacts, companionship, transportation services and minor home tasks.
